Pathway
Rotorua's representative programmes run across the school year. Open trials for U12, U14, U16 and U18 take place after Labour Weekend. The pathways below are how RBA has described each age group's programme; dates for each new season are announced by RBA.
Term 4
Open trials take place after Labour Weekend. Up to 24 athletes are identified for a Development Squad, working on skills and understanding with their appointed coaches.
Term 1
U16 and U18 squads use the Easter tournament as their final trials to select the team or teams for the Mid-North Zone Day.
Term 2
Selected teams compete at the Mid-North Zone Day and the Mid-North Qualifiers for Nationals.
Nationals
Qualified teams go on to represent Rotorua at the Basketball New Zealand Nationals.
